Gone viral: Psy's 'Gangnam Style' follow-up, 'Gentleman,' already on its way to records

Psy's follow-up to "Gangnam Style," which has set records and become the most viewed YouTube video ever, is on its way to its own milestones. His new video, "Gentleman", first smashed the previous record for first-day views for songs and was seen approaching 100 million views on Tuesday.

Of course, Tuesday isn't over yet in the world. On early morning Tuesday, the video (embedded) was at more than 92 million views and rising.

Psy himself tweeted his amazement at the video's viral rise. On Monday, he tweeted:
51million views in 40hours!! My God~!!! PSY - GENTLEMAN M/V
"Gangnam Style" holds the YouTube record for most views with over 1.5 billion -- and counting. The song made the South Korean a worldwide star.

"Gentleman" racked up more than 20 million YouTube views in its first 24 hours. That easily outpaced the prior record holder, Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend" which saw 8 million views.

The comments on the video keep piling up. One viewer said "Awesome music! Psy is a genious!" Another said "PSY is amazing xD."

Some were less complimentary, or even dismissive. One wrote, "hate it wish i never hear another song from this guy," and other said simply "Meh. 'Gangnam Style' was better."

Sales-wise, "Gangnam Style" racked up digital sales of 3.59 million in the U.S. and Canada in 2012, according to Nielsen SoundScan and Nielsen BDS. That was ninth overall in their best-sellers list. Meanwhile the song finished third on Amazon.com's MP3 song bestseller list for 2012.
