2010 MacBook Air screen issues confirmed by leaked internal memo

A leaked support memo validates the issues early adopters of the late 2010 MacBook Air are seeing, including screen flickering and horizontal colored lines. We reported earlier that owners are reporting the issues on Apple's support forums.

The memo, obtained by BGR, states that Apple support employees are instructed to state that the company is aware of the issues and is working on solutions. Meanwhile, it adds that Apple has isolated the actual problem and that it will be addressed in an upcoming software update.

In addition to the screen problems, as we noted in our earlier report, some MacBook Air users are also reporting that their computers are experiencing kernel panics (think of it as the Mac and Linux version of a Windows BSOD). The leaked memo did not specifically mention that issue, but it is possible a software update could potentially fix it as well.

You can see two videos on the screen issue below.
