"Facebook Killer" Sentenced to Life

In February, Wayne Forrester, 34, murdered his wife Emma, also 34, over posts she made on the social networking site Facebook.

The Forresters had a troubled marriage of 15 years, and just days after Forrester left the house she wrote on the site that she wanted to meet other men, and changed her online profile to "single."

Forrester told police:
"Emma and I had just split up. She forced me out. She then posted messages on an Internet website telling everyone she had left me and was looking to meet other men.

I loved Emma and felt totally devastated and humiliated about what she had done to me."
Forrester drove to her home in Croydon, south London and attacked the mother-of-two, beating her, tearing out clumps of her hair, and stabbing her with a kitchen knife and meat cleaver on February 18th.

Forrester was drunk and high on cocaine at the time.

Judge Brian Barker said:
"You committed a terrible act. There is no possible excuse or justification. This is a tragic killing and what you have done has caused untold anguish."
Forrester plead guilty to murder and was sentenced to life, with a minimum term of 14 years.
