Microsoft Launches - Not Software, But a "Tech Superhero" Comic

You may have heard of the upcoming launch event for the 2008 versions of SQL Server, Windows Server and Visual Studio. Microsoft has dubbed it "Heroes Happen Here." Obviously playing off it, they've launched a daily comic strip with the same name.

According to Microsoft,
The HHH Comic Series is a daily web comic that adapts tech stories from actual IT Professionals and Developers - a web comic that reflects the real lives of IT Hero's such as you. Every business day we will release a new episode driven from suggestions from the IT community.
So far the series has focused on Steve Donnell, Software Developer. In the first strip his son needed to know what he did for a class presentation on what his father did for a living. After hearing what he did as a programmer, he told his class his father drives an ice cream truck.

In the second episode (click above for the full strip) Steve imagines himself as Lord Firewall, he who stands "between chaos and order."

The comic debuted Monday and will run until June 28. The developers also want you to help drive the story, by submitting your own experiences.
Write about how you, your team, or your company were heroes because of how you used IT or programming to save the day.
Microsoft's also using it as a way to promote Silverlight: to see the archived comics you have to install it.
