After all, it doesn't really matter if the Galaxy Note 3 isn't really Ellen's personal fave, but just a great marketing product placement: It was clearly visible onstage and she took a number of selfies with it, including the "selfie heard round the world," which became the most retweeted ever. To do that, Ellen had to dethrone Barack and Michelle Obama's famous post-2012 election win tweet.
To find the details of her tweets, it's necessary to use apps like TweetDeck. As an example, a tweet she posted at 12:07 p.m. PT was done with Twitter for iPhone. At 4:13 p.m. PT, Twitter for Android made its first appearance, as Ellen apparently switched into full-on marketing mode.
After that, it seems as though Ellen -- or someone -- was switching back and forth between the Galaxy Note 3 and the iPhone. It's possible, in fact, probable, that the photographer was an assistant with access to Ellen's social media accounts taking pictures with an iPhone.
Of course, that doesn't mean that Ellen isn't one of those dual-phoner folks -- even Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak does that. We will probably never know the truth of the matter -- or the marketing.
The final count of photos posted by Ellen (or rep) to her Twitter account on Oscars Sunday:
- Samsung: 5
- iPhone: 4
- Adobe Social:1 (commonly used for many of her tweets, probably by people who work with her on social media)
