Asus teases IFA 2013 Transformer Pad Infinity announcement

Hands off that "Buy" button. If you are looking for an Android tablet, you might want to wait until Wednesday. On Tuesday, Lenovo used its Facebook page to tease an upcoming tablet announcement at IFA on Sept. 4.

While not revealing exactly what it would announce, the fact that the company claimed the new product would "transform" your flexibility implied that the device is a Transformer tablet of some sort. We'd both hope and expect that it would be the Transformer Pad Infinity refresh that Asus has been sitting on since June.

Announced at this year’s Computex, the new Transformer Pad Infinity features a 10.1-inch 2560 x 1600 IPS display, a 4K-capable HDMI-out port, USB 3.0, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, and 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera.

The 2013 Transformer Pad Infinity features an NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage expandable via the requisite memory card slot. This year's model sports a redesigned (and optional) QWERTY keyboard dock with additional battery power and extra ports.

Pricing is expected to be about $399 for the tablet alone, and $499 including the dock.

It's expected the device will run Android 4.2.2, as does the recently introduced HP Slatebook x2. Hopefull, it won't have the same negatives as that device does, including an instant incompatibility with Amazon's Kindle app right out of the box.
