'Dexter' fans? Hackers responsible for celebrity 'doxxing' seem to be

No hackers have come forth and claimed victory for "doxxing" a number of celebrities, including First Lady Michelle Obama, Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Vice-President Joe Biden. However, clues uncovered on the hacker site on Tuesday seem to out them as fans of the Showtime crime drama, "Dexter."

At the top of the hackers' website is the first clue. There is a clue from the season two finale of "Dexter," "The British Invasion." In that episode, Dexter is seen saying (embedded), "If you believe that God makes miracles, you have to wonder if Satan has a few up his sleeve."

A second clue can be found only by searching through the website's source code. It's not visible on the site, but hidden in the code is a link to a YouTube video that contains the "Dexter" end credits theme music.

It is still unclear, though, what the motive behind the hacks is. Dexter is, for those unaware, a serial killer who targets other serial killers. The hackers may love the show "Dexter," but how that is connected to their hacks -- if at all -- isn't known, yet.

The FBI is investigating the hacks; we're sure they have an interest in them since one of the people hacker was FBI director Robert Mueller. The FBI has told all of the individuals hacked that they should to take steps to lock down their finances ASAP. Most, if not all of the individuals have substantial assets.

Among the celebrities hacked are:
  • Charlie Beck (Los Angeles Police Department chief)
  • Beyonce
  • Jay-Z
  • Joe Biden
  • Hillary Clinton
  • Ashton Kutcher
  • Mel Gibson
  • Paris Hilton
  • Eric Holder
  • Kim Kardashian
  • Robert Mueller (FBI director)
  • Michelle Obama
  • Sarah Palin
  • Britney Spears
  • Donald Trump
It's been noted that the hackers have a Twitter account. Worth noting is that tagline on that Twitter account is written in Russian, and translated to English says "F*ck the police."
