Temple Run 2 runs into Google Play and the Amazon Appstore

They promised it last week, and on Thursday, developers Imangi Studios delivered. The Android version of "Temple Run 2" hit Google Play and the Amazon Appstore on Thursday.

The app is free. The iOS version, which launched slightly more than a week ago, is also free but has in-app purchases, as well.

Here's how the game is described on the Play Store:
The sequel to the smash hit phenomenon that took the world by storm!

With over 170 million downloads, Temple Run redefined mobile gaming. Now get more of the exhilarating running, jumping, turning and sliding you love in Temple Run 2!

Navigate perilous cliffs, zip lines, mines and forests as you try to escape with the cursed idol. How far can you run?!

  • Beautiful new graphics
  • Gorgeous new organic environments
  • New obstacles
  • More powerups
  • More achievements
  • Special powers for each character
  • Bigger monkey!!!
The sequel takes all the same gameplay of the first game, but adds curves, hills, and dips to the courses. Just as before, you escape from ravenous monkeys and collect coins while running through an ancient temple.

There are also new modes of transportation, such as ropes and train carts. There are also brand new power-ups in the game.

The iOS version of Temple Run 2 hit the App Store on Jan. 17, and was downloaded six million times in the its 24 hours. We expect popularity on the same level for the Android version.
