More Black Friday leaks, as Michaels' ad hits the web

If you'd prefer to make your holiday gifts this season, rather than buy them, Michaels might be the place for you. The arts-and-crafts chain's Black Friday ad leaked to the web on Wednesday, showcasing discounts on the items you need to personalize gifts for the holiday season.

Michaels will be one of those retailers that will attempt to draw people away from turkey and NFL football with a sale beginning on Thanksgiving Day. The ad features a 30 percent off coupon valid for everything on Thanksgiving.

For Black Friday, Michaels has other couples that are valid for up to 50 percent off. Although we now have PC issues with saying Christmas instead of holiday shopping, one of the better deals at Michaels is at least 50 percent off of all Christmas trees. That is a doorbuster and runs Thanksgiving Day only from 4 p.m., when Michaels opens, to 11 p.m.

The sale is a three-day long sale. On Black Friday, Michaels will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on Saturday, its stores will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

According to Wikipedia,
It [Michaels] currently operates more than 1040 Michaels Arts and Crafts Stores located in 49 U.S. states and in Canada.[1] The company owns and operates the Aaron Brothers retail chain which consists of more than 140 stores. Michaels also produces 10 exclusive private brands including Recollections, Studio Decor, Bead Landing, Creatology, Ashland, Celebrate It, Art Minds, Artist's Loft, Craft Smart and Loops & Threads. The corporate headquarters are located in Irving, Texas.
Michaels will, of course, not see the crowds that will be see at big box retailers such as Best Buy. Still the savings might amount to a lot for do-it-yourselfers and crafters.
