Saturday, November 24, 2012 teases hot deals for its Cyber Monday 2012 sale

Most consider the Walmart Black Friday ad to be the biggest for that shopping day. For Cyber Monday, however, it's all the way, and on Black Friday, the giant Internet retailer announced its Cyber Monday sale. has an advantage of sorts over others. As an Internet-only retailer, the transition from Black Friday -- or rather, its Black Friday Deals Week -- to its Cyber Monday Deals Week is seamless.

We'd bet that most of the site code is easily transitioned from one "shopping holiday" to the other.

The Cyber Monday site is already up, in parallel to's Black Friday site. The Cyber Monday site is mostly a teaser, though.

If you recall Black Friday Deals Week (it's not even over, so you must), ran time-limited sales the whole week long. It's going to be doing that with Cyber Monday Week, as well. Among the deals that will appear in time

Craig Berman, Vice President, Amazon Global Communications said: “We know our customers love shopping on Cyber Monday and finding top deals on gifts for everyone on their list. We’re excited to offer customers the best prices on popular gift items this season and an easy, stress-free holiday shopping experience -– nothing beats the convenience of shopping from anywhere at any time, whether it’s on a PC at work, in line for coffee or lounging on the couch with the Kindle Fire HD.”

Cyber Monday received its name because, in the past, it was the first time that many consumers would have access to broadband after the Thanksgiving holiday. Nowadays, with the spread of broadband across much of the U.S., that's not so true, but the "holiday" still holds sway as a big shopping day.
