Realistic-appearing iPad mini images leak to Twitter

Realistic-appearing iPad mini images have appeared on the Internet, via Twitter. The images were posted to the account of 9to5Mac researcher Sonny Dickson, on Tuesday morning.

While the photos' veracity remain unconfirmed, they seem in line with both previously leaked iPad mini images as well as size specifications for the device. The iPad mini is expected to carry a 7.85-inch screen, and Dickson's images show the device against an iPad.

A slideshow can be seen here.

The missing part of the photos: the front side of the device. All the images show the back side - only - of the iPad mini. One thing is clear though: as expected, the device will carry the iPhone 5's new Lightning dock connector.

Not that much is known about the iPad mini, aside from its size. It's rumored to be carrying a non-retina 1,024 x 768 display, similar to the original iPad. It is rumored that Apple will send invitations to a launch on Oct. 10, with the actual event on Oct. 17.

Assuming history holds true, Apple would then being pre-orders on Oct. 19, with the device hitting retail on Oct. 26.
