Best Buy prices Lumia 920 at $149, HTC 8X at $99; pre-orders available

If you think the pricing of Nokia's Lumia 900 was aggressive, don't worry: Nokia and AT&T are going to be equally aggressive on the Windows 8-based Lumia 920, and that pricing strategy will apply to HTC's 8X Windows 8 Phone, as well.

As of Sunday, Best Buy already had the phones up for pre-order. The Lumia 920, Nokia's flagship Windows 8 phone, will sell for $149.99, while the HTC 8x will sell for $99.99.

Both of those phones, of course, require a two-year service agreement to get those prices. Both phones are priced at $599.99 without a contract. The Lumia 920s come in black, cyan, yellow and white; the 8X is an 8GB model.

While the all-important "how much" has been answered, the just-as-important "when" has not been answered. Both phones are said to "ship when available," whatever that means. Earlier, AT&T said the Lumia 920 and its sibling the 820 would ship in November.

The phones are not available for pre-order on AT&T's website, at the time of this writing.
