4-inch Samsung Galaxy S III Mini to launch next week, flier intimates

Samsung's German division has begun sending out invitations to a launch event on Oct. 11. What could be announced on that date? Based on the language on the invite, it could be the Samsung Galaxy S III Mini that was rumored way back in August.

The flier, obtained by Unwired View, says something akin to “something small will be really big”, and “get ready for a little sensation," when translated.

The Galaxy S III Mini is rumored to be a Galaxy S III that has had its screen shrunk to 4-inches, as opposed to the 4.8-inch screen of Samsung's flagship device.

The flier itself seems to point to some sort of Galaxy S device. Squarely placed in the middle of the flier is the S that Samsung uses for its Galaxy S-branded devices. The "small will be really big" language seems to cement it being a Galaxy S III mini.

Though still unclear, hopefully the device will launch with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) rather than Android 4.0, which a number of devices continue to ship with. Previously leaked details said its 4-inch touchscreen would have a resolution of 800 x 400, and that the smartphone would ship with a dual-core processor and a 5MP rear-facing camera.
