EVAC HD is free in Google Play (we expect there is some additional functionality or unlocking in the paid Amazon Appstore version but was unable to discover it in limited testing). It is normally priced at $1.99 in the Amazon Appstore. As we've noted before, there are sometimes differences in pricing and availability between the two marketplaces.
EVAC HD is described as follows:
Run for your life through a series of increasingly devious hi-res neon mazes, chased by countless relentless security forces. Mixing the best parts of arcade, stealth, and block puzzle games, EVAC HD will challenge you to outsmart, outmaneuver, and seek revenge against the enemies trapping you and your friends.EVAC HD has a 4.6-star rating in Google Play, and a 3.5-star rating in the Amazon Appstore.
Be the Best
Take EVAC, the smiling pink square, one step closer to freedom by gathering colored dots in order to open exits and move through levels. Collect dots, avoid being hit, and destroy your enemies with power-ups to increase your multiplier and your total score. Replay levels to beat your own goals and top the online leaderboards.
Be as efficient as possible by setting your own touchscreen control point based on comfort and convenience. Calibrate it on screen during gameplay if you need to make an adjustment.
Use stealth to avoid encounters and prepare traps for your enemies, or just rush as fast as you can right in front of their eyes. Figure out how to beat the system and destroy your captors in 24 action-packed levels. Steal from your dark adversary, SHADOWBOX, and leave his world and red square minions in ruins! Beware as he taunts and comments on your progress and fight on through!
Get help from the yellow square, CRATOS, and his friends, the yellow blocks you encounter in the mazes. Receive his advice and push the blocks around you to crush your enemies and to press switch pads for puzzle solutions.

This HD version of EVAC is optimized for tablets and high-end handsets (Galaxy Tab, Galaxy S, DROID, Desire, Incredible, myTouch 4G, G2, EVO, Nexus One, Nexus S, etc.). Try the non-HD version if you have a lower-spec device.
There is also a version of EVAC HD in the iOS App Store. It is priced at $1.99 and has a 4-star rating overall, but insufficient ratings to display for the current version.
In general we continue to be disappointed with the FAOTD program. It began promisingly enough, with Angry Birds Rio, but we've gotten tired of the endless games or niche apps, and especially apps which have no uptake in Google Play, and seem to be FAOTD as a desperation move by the developer. We'd like to see free versions of say, Office-compatible software or useful utilities such as CalenGoo instead of niche apps or endless games (we just assume every day that it's going to be a game; it's gotten that bad).
Amazon.com opened up the Appstore despite a lawsuit by Apple, which has previously trademarked the term "App Store." Microsoft has filed an appeal against that trademark, saying the term is too generic. Amazon.com has responded to the lawsuit in the same manner.
