Twitter goes bonkers over Miley Cyrus' new pixie cut

Celebrities tend to share a lot on Twitter, with the result sometimes being over-sharing. Either way, Miley Cyrus shared her new hairdo on Twitter, with the resulting comments not always kind.

As we said, the drama began on Twitter. Miley is apparently not an Olympics fan, as instead of watching either events or the closing ceremonies of the 2012 London Olympics, she was having her hair seriously shorn.

First, Miley tweeted an image that showed her famous blonde bun in a precarious position, between the scissors of her hair stylist, Chris McMillan. Shortly thereafter, she tweeted, "it's happening," followed by "if you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all. my hair is attached to my head no one else's and it's going bye bye :)"

Still later, she re-tweeted an image first posted by McMillan, one showing the 19-year-old singer / actress with an apparent shocked look on her face, about to get a major makeover.

Three hours later, we were presented the results, as Miley Cyrus tweeted her new pixie cut.

She then posted a number of images of herself with the new cut, and tweeted "Never felt more me in my whole life ❤"

Not everyone agreed that Miley's new 'do was "the thing, though." To that, she responded with yet another tweet, saying "my dad @billyraycyrus used to tell me 'opinions are are like ass holes every body has one' LOVE my hair ❤ feel so happy, pretty, and free."

Pixie cuts don't work for all women, but we are fans of the ones that Alyssa Milano and Winona Ryder sported. Miley's cut we will need to get used to, but honestly, she has the right kind of face for it.

What do you readers think of Miley's new cut?
