Amazon Appstore's Free App of the Day, 4/11/2012: Bubble Birds (ads free) has promised to make a paid app free every day in the Amazon Appstore, and today's app is Bubble Birds (ads free).

Bubble Birds (ads free) isn't in Google Play, but it is normally priced at $0.99 in the Amazon Appstore. As we've noted before, there are sometimes differences in pricing between the two marketplaces.

Burst Those Birds

Waves of birds are gliding down toward the ground, and it's your job to ensure they don't hit the bottom. Fire off a bird with your slingshot to match it with at least two other birds of the same color.

If you match up at least three birds of a feather, those birds will burst in a cloud of feathers and disappear. Plan out your shots carefully - you can see which colored bird is coming up next.

Bubble Birds features fun and colorful backgrounds, such as a jungle, the Artic (sic), a beach, and three more scenes. Slingshot your way through 136 levels and two game modes. Compete with players around the world on a global leaderboard.
Bubble Birds (ads free) isn't in Google Play, as we said before, although developer divmob does have a number of other apps there. It is rated at 2.6 stars in the Amazon Appstore.

The negative reviews come via poor gameplay, problematic controls, and a total lack of music.

Those who are considering "buying" a Free Amazon Appstore app might want to consider what it means to developers. opened up the Appstore despite a lawsuit by Apple, which has previously trademarked the term "App Store." Microsoft has filed an appeal against that trademark, saying the term is too generic. has responded to the lawsuit in the same manner.
