First 'new iPad' unboxing video, benchmarks posted

The new iPad isn't set to arrive either by delivery or in stores until Friday, March 16, but the website managed to get its hands on Apple's next generation iPad somehow, anyway. It's interesting in more than one way: VietNam isn't on the list of the first set of countries to get its hands on the new iPad.

With that, the site posted the first known "new iPad" unboxing video. You can see it below.

The site also ran a set of benchmarks on the device. The Geekbench test confirmed that, as expected, the device has 1GB of RAM. The processor was not clocked over the A5 processor in the iPad 2, which means the major improvements to performance will be the quad-core graphics and the 1GB of RAM.

The Geekbench score came in at 756. AnandTech's score for Geekbench from last year and the iPad 2 came in at 751, which means the new results are basically within the margin of error.

Many readers have already received shipping notices for their pre-orders, and so have we. However, the shipping notice we have seen is coming from Ontario, Canada, and is stuck at "Shipment information sent to FedEx." If these devices are coming from Canada, they could "really" ship them Thursday night and have them delivered on Friday.

Although some people might receive their iPads early, Apple typically requests shipments to be held until launch day.
