The Twitterverse explodes with celebrity Tweets over Whitney Houston's death

As news of the death of former pop queen Whitney Houston spread, celebrities took to Twitter in huge numbers to express their reactions.

Houston was 48, and was found in her hotel room at the Beverly Hilton on Saturday afternoon. According to the Beverly Hills Police Department, a medical aid call first came into 911 at 3:43 p.m. PST. Police arrived two minutes later; firefighters were already on site due to preparations for Sunday's Grammys.

CPR was already being given, but they could not revive her. Whitney Houston was declared dead at 3:55 p.m. PST.

Tweets from around the celebrity world flooded in. Among them:
