Jailbroken iPhones feel the 3G FaceTime love

We've said before that jailbreaking has its benefits, and here is a clear case of that. While Facetime. The app My3G has been used before to trick iPhones into thinking they are on wi-fi instead of 3G, meaning you could run wi-fi only apps on cellular, and it's now working on the iPhone 4, with FaceTime.

Watch 100,00 of Movies & Shows instantly on your TIt was only over the weekend that the website JailbreakMe went live, with a browser-based jailbreak of various iOS devices, including the iPhone 4. With that jailbreak now live (and legal), My3G has been reported to now be working with FaceTime.

It's $2.99 on Cydia, and $3.99 (after a free trial) on RockYourPhone. Never heard of either of those? You must not be jailbroken yet, then.

A caveat would be that FaceTime has obviously been tested extensively by Apple only on wi-fi, and probably optimized for wi-fi as well. You'd expect, therefore, that the experience on 3G might not be so hot.

Also, don't forget: it's AT&T ('nuff said?). Finally, make sure you don't touch the "death grip" location (as faux as Apple feels it is).

Let us know in the comments how you feel the experience is. Don't have a friend using FaceTime? Remember that you can use Apple TS to try it out.

I'm really struggling trying to get this to build in XCode, can you either post your sample project, or give some more detail on how to get it to build?
