Still more countries will be able to officially test the "death grip" scenario, starting this Friday. Apple announced that residents in seventeen more countries will be able to buy the iPhone 4 on July 30th.

Apple's
press release notes that the iPhone 4 will hit Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland on Friday. Customers in those countries will be able to buy the iPhone 4 at authorized retailers and Apple's online store.
Of course, the first words out of the mouths of those living in countries currently feeling an iPhone 4 shortage is will be, "And they're doing this while I still have 3 weeks to wait (in the U.S.) if I place an order today?"
