Left-handers' group calls foul over the iPhone 4

It is still undetermined as far as what exactly is causing iPhone 4 reception issues when the lower-left hand corner of the newest iPhone is covered. Still, a U.K. organization, the Left-Handers Club, a group which boasts 90,000 (yet hasn't updated their site since 2009, based on their home page) is calling it discrimination (or at least, a design flaw).

While ten percent of the population is left-handed, Apple's CEO Steve Jobs has said that those holding it in their left hand are holding it the "wrong way." To this, Lauren Milsom, the group's press rep, reportedly said:
"It seems ludicrous to suggest that 10 per cent of potential users should be told they have to adopt a less natural hand hold to use this latest technology.

"I would strongly suggest that Steve Jobs employs left-handers in his design and testing team in future, and urgently address this issue to ensure the phone is fit for purpose.

"It is disappointing that a leading innovations and design company like Apple have not considered left-handers in their initial design and testing stages of the 4G.

"Clearly more testing is needed to be certain this is the case, but if so, left-handed potential customers need to be warned that the phone will not work for them, until it can be redesigned to remedy the fault."
Apple CEO Steve Jobs' latest reported response on the issue has been "There are no reception issues. Stay Tuned."

Tell that to Phil Mickelson (no, to be clear, we are unaware if Lefty is truly an iPhone 4 user).

At any rate, numerous videos have shown the issue. Rumor is that Apple will release an iOS 4.0.1 version to fix the issue. Either that, or Apple will release a left-handed version of the phone, like some mouse manufacturers.
