Whole Foods Warns About Multiple Gift Card Scams

Have you received an invitation from a friend of yours on Facebook, asking you to become a fan of, and thus get, a Whole Foods $500 gift card? It sounds too good to be true, and it is: it's a scam.

If you follow through the link for such an offer, it'll ask you to insert some code into your browser address bar that will supposedly ask all your friends to join, as well. That's a requirement for the offer.

However, when you finally through that part, the scam will ask you for a lot of personal information, and reportedly try to infect your system with malware as well. Here's what Whole Foods says on their Facebook page:
Please be wary of Facebook Pages offering you $500 Whole Foods Gift Cards. We only run giveaways and promotions on this Facebook Page and our stores' Pages. We have reported these to Facebook, and you can report these fraudulent Pages by clicking the "Report Page" link on the bottom of the left column on the "Wall" view. Please share this message with your friends so that they don’t get scammed.
Typically, if it sounds too good to be true, it is, and this is no different.
