Microsoft has quietly released the release candidate (RC) for Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2). The SP is being delivered as one update for both Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008.End users can download an ISO image to be burned to DVD, or as executables to be used to upgrade from 32-, 64- and IA64-bit installations. Remember, however, that you need Windows Vista SP1 installed before you can upgrade to SP2.
While Microsoft has confirmed a ship date for SP2, other than Q2, the web site TechARP.com, which has accurately predicted past Windows delivery dates, has said Vista SP2 is on track to launch no later than mid-May.
