Desktop PCs are out, while notebooks are in, particularly for students. And during this back-to-school season, Mac laptops managed to bag 20% of the laptop sales, which probably heartened Steve Jobs' mood.An NPD report, as noted by RegisterHardware, also showed that when measured in terms of revenue, Mac laptops had 35% of the sales. Measured year-over-year, Mac notebook unit sales grew 35% while revenue rose 30%.
Year-over-year, Windows-based notebooks sales fell 10% in terms of units and 1.5% in terms of revenue.
