Geez, I always thought a place like the Apple Store would be where you would meet geeky guys. But my wife told me that according to Cosmopolitan magazine, the Apple Store has become a great place to meet guys, "whether you're looking for a fun fling or a long-term relationship." According to the article my wife was reading:
Most guys are natural gadget lovers, and with sales of iPods and MacBooks skyrocketing, more men than ever are stopping by Apple boutiques. The vibe at the stores is conducive to man meeting too: You can check your email among cuties, take a free workshop on anything from Photoshop to podcasting (a great opportunity to strike up a conversation), or just survey the, ahem, good-looking merchandise.
I'm not so sure what I would think of this. On the other hand, I'm a guy. Perhaps women feel differently. But check out the rest of their list:
- The weight room in the gym (this makes sense)
- A Fortune 500 or tech company (they obviously haven't worked at tech companies ... unless they are talking about looking for millionaires at places like Google)
- A political rally or campaign (whaat?)
- A sports bar on Sunday or Monday night
- Boston; Paradise, Nevada; and Jacksonville, North Carolina
- A volleyball league
- A grad-school coffee shop
- A rock-climbing center
- A steak house
